I was watching "The Lord of the Rings" Trilogy last weekend...

Ahem...for at least the 3rd time...and yes, it was the EXTENDED version...

So we're talking a good 10+ hours of Orcs, and Elves, and beautiful scenery...

And THAT gave me the idea for this week's YouTube Live - 

There's a scene where one Hobbit, Samwise, is carrying pots and pans and all other kinds of stuff, and yet he is able to move easier than Frodo, who has the unenviable task of carrying the ONE RING, which grows heavier as he draws closer to his goal.

What a metaphor for clutter - it's the Emotional weight of clutter that can really anchor us to our past, or prevent us from pursuing our goals.  

That is why I recommend to my clients that they NOT tackle the heaviest sentimental stuff first - but gain skill decluttering in easier areas.
