So here's what happened...
Hello, !
My dad had what the doctors called "a massive heart attack" on Thursday morning.
He was in and out of surgery by the time I boarded my flight on Thursday afternoon.
By Friday, he was arguing with the Doctor to release him straight from ICU to home.
They came to a compromise - she let him go VERY EARLY on Saturday morning.
By Saturday afternoon, he was back on a tractor, but "taking it easy".
FARMERS. They're a tough breed.
In the midst of all
the drama, the highs and lows and fears of losing him,
I had time to feel GRATEFUL.
Grateful for the time we have enjoyed together. Grateful for the lessons he taught me. Grateful for a life that allowed me to jump on a plane last minute. Grateful for a
world where planes and dcotors and modern hospitals exist.
And, grateful for YOU.
I know if I would have said something earlier, you all would have been praying for him and sending me well-wishes and words of encouragement.
You open my emails, listen to my words, and share with me your thoughts.
I LOVE that.
It makes all the work of
creating these episodes worthwhile.
I have recorded 108 episodes of Bragg...About Life.
And, 108 episodes later, I'm realizing this - I'm craving simplicity.
I love sharing with you the lessons I'm learning, but to be honest, I prefer to share via writing most of all.
So, for the month of July, I will play with this part of writing more, recording less. Allowing room for experimentation and creativity and conversations.
And, I would love to hear from you - is there an area of your life, a creative endeavor, a contribution, a new work that you'd like to create or an established work that you would like to revamp - either simplify or add a
breath of fresh air?
What is YOUR creative work and how is it coming?
I would love to hear!
And in closing, here's a song that will help us all remember how very precious life is and what our attitude should be when we are living FULL OUT in a way that honors God and shows love to our neighbor AS ourself -
